I want to provide ISDN connectivity for a couple of customers. I have an 8port card on an NT server providing RAS services with 28,800 modemscurrently... Is it possible to simply replace a couple of 28,800's with ISDNmodems? Can the other end be a CISCO ISDN router? Anyone doing this? ISDNBRI has just gotten cheap in my area thanks to a CLEC who is competing withGTE. These lines will be nailed up 24x7

Thanks in advance for your posts.

Hi!

We are using Compaq Microcom Series 4000.http://www.microcom.com/products/eas/4000/index.htmlWith E1/T1 or PRI-ISDN you can provide both analog modem access (56k) andISDN access. It's a professional solution an we have a very-very good experience.

>Can the other end be a CISCO ISDN router?yes!

I have tried to block certain domain names using directory security in the= IIS manager console. I choose ...

BY DEAFULT ALL DOMAINS ARE ALLOWED ACCESSThen I add denies underneath.

What happens?Everyone else gets 403 errors if they are not on the same c address.

As soon as I remove the domain names from the deny list, all other ip= addresses are allowed access again.

What is going on?

Hello.

A customers is asking if Netscape Communicator 4.04 can automatically dialinto us by just opening the Netscape browser.

I know IE4 has this capability. But Netscape's Preferences dialog boxdoesn't seem to have such a feature.

Hope somebody could help me.

If the DUN is already created and set as the default connection in theInternet Control panel it will start up the DUN connection just like IE.

Go into the dial up networking window from My Computer. Here you shouldhave a menu choice of "connections" at the top. Click on that and select"settings". Select the option of "Don't prompt to use Dial-upNetworking".

Now when they start Netscape and have a default homepage set it shouldstart dialing. They do have to have the password saved to get this towork.

It is quite lengthy, so only if you have time...

I currently rent a small office ($700/m) at an ISP to house two NT servers. They currently have a full T1 from which I plug my hub into their 10baseTEthernet network.

At this rate, I was wondering if it would be worth it to actually bring adedicated circuit into my residence if I could keep the price somewhat inthe same range.

I've called GTE (my telephone provider in N. Va) and I've been speaking witha lady who seems to know about as much as what I do.

If you don't mind taking the time, I have a few questions about ordering apartial T1.

I received the following email from her...

------------------------Paul,

Below are the price quotes for 4 chnls, depending on the payment plan.

NRC MRC

SERVICE ESTB. 300.00

1ST DS1 FACILITYFOR 36 MO'S 250.00 275.00

FOR 60 MO'S 250.00 235.00

FOR 84 MO'S 250.00 220.00

CHANNEL CONFIG. 35.00X4= 140.00

SERV ORDER 20.00

Paul, remember this does not include the state or local taxes for if yourarea has extended area service. This is an approximate quote.

Lisa KocaISP Coordinator-----------------------

She also sent me a fax (I'm trying to decipher it) showing 1 FT1 Circuit at$299 monthly with a $350 NRC. It shows that my point-to-point is 6 miles. Atthe top it is labeled Fractional DS1 Inter-State Special Access Point toPoint.

I've been around a DS3 and T3, but I've never heard of a DS1.

-----------------------

I'm also going to be purchasing some equipment on my end. I'm assuming thata partial T1 will require a CSU/DSU and I'll need a small router for my LAN.My requirements are around 256-384k of bandwidth at the moment.

Has Lisa given me all the cost? Are there any other considerations that I need to look at before placing myorder?
