Is there a 4.9.7 bind free for nt? Where?

I check at software.com and the latest is 4.9.5.

Well we use the 1900 and have never had any problems...
In fact when I got the piece (and new nothing about switches)
I just plugged it in and *BANG* it was ready to go.
So my vote would be for the Cisco.

P.S. Why are you upgrading to 100 base-t what type of upstream
connection do you have? A fiber?
The only reason I'd like to have 100 baset is for my internal customers.

The freeware version is a direct port of the UNIX bind which has years of
development behind it and tends to be more stable than the MS version. To
each his own, however - I've heard of problems with the MS Bind and there
are others who have no problems with it at all.

Conner/Segate makes a neat 24G DDS-3 4mm DAT Drive
and
Stay far away from Arcserve - Get the Backup Exec. & SQL Module

I use this combo here, and it is slick...
We back up at aroung 30 - 50 MB per minute

Mostly the flexibility of editing the files by hand, and the fact that you
can easily move your DNS to a Unix box if you want to. Not that it is all
that hard to move NT DNS over to Unix.... I really like the NT DNS interface
for looking things up, but it is a huge pain to make more than 5 edits. JMO

It's easy enough to edit NT DNS files by hand. They live in
\winnt\system32\dns. You have to change both version numbers and stop/start
the DNS service for your changes to take effect.

I need the expert advice of those of you that have implemented some sort of
Redundancy and fault tolerance in your location. Right now I only have a
single Web Server running IIS 4.0, SQL 6.5, CF 3.1 and a couple of other
applications that run on top of the Web Server. I do back everything every
night but that's not what I'm interested in at this point. I'm adding a new
server next week and I want to implement redundancy in two ways (please
correct me if I'm dreaming here):

1) I want the load be distributed in both servers and

2) If one of the servers fails I want the other one to immediately take
over so that not a single user notice our Web Services are down.

I know this can be done, the question is: What is the best way to
accomplish it?

If anyone out there has done something similar and is willing to share the
"know how" I will greatly appreciate it.

Best to all,
-Victor

server next week and I want to implement redundancy in two ways (please
correct me if I'm dreaming here):

1) I want the load be distributed in both servers and

2) If one of the servers fails I want the other one to immediately take
over so that not a single user notice our Web Services are down.

I know this can be done, the question is: What is the best way to
accomplish it?

If anyone out there has done something similar and is willing to share
the
"know how" I will greatly appreciate it.

Best to all,
-Victor

I don't use one myself, but the Exabyte Eliant 820 boast a backup rate of
120MB a minute, 8MM tapes hold 7/14GB.
