dead users on live mailing lists

Hello,

What do you do with dead users, i.e. no longer subcribers to your
services, who signed up with various mailing lists and did not sign
off before cancelling their accounts? Some of mailing list administrators
do not pay any attention to the list postings bounced back to them with the
'delivery failure' annotation. The postings keep coming and coming, even
despite my personal messages to postmaster@the.domain.in.question about
non-existence of certain addresses on their lists. Very often, neither
bounced back postings nor my own messages could be delivered because of
their smtp servers being down.

In that respect, the worst 3 of mailing list domains seem to be:
news.newswire.microsoft.com
girlsonfilm.com
EMAIL.ZDLISTS.COM

Does anyone have a solution to the problem?

Cheers,
Jack Olszewski
