Not from the same COMPANY.

Affordable: $1 per head; horrible hold times, and we were
unceremoniously DUMPED by them when they got busted for running the
infamous unlimited flat rate 800 scam. GTMI in Ann Arbor, MI. They
NEVER returned my calls.

GOOD: Shadow Solutions. Have met several times with the owner, Frank
Fitzgerald. Honest, likeable fellow who promises good support, and
delivers on it. We use 'em. They pay their techs well enough to have
good retention and experience levels, and you pay for that quality.
Around $3/head depending on your customer count. You can also pay on a per
INCIDENT basis, with a per head CAP (a free lunch!). 2 minute hold times,
70% first call resolution, good followup and followthrough. $3/head is
stepp, but YOU couldn't provide support likes that 24x7 on $3/head, so you
do come out ahead. I highly recommend them. www.shadowsolutions.com

What kind of computer? A clone, or a brand name? If it is a brand name, I
have run into a wealth of stuff regarding this. Let me know what it is and

Just promote a BDC to a PDC using Server Manager first. Then you can
demote the PDC to a BDC.

Buy one of those ground plus. One end has the proper thre plug outlet, and the other end has the two-prongs, and a metal tab (which connects tothe third ground plug, the round one). Then you use a piece of wire toground the metal tab to whatever is grounded (like a water pipe, etc). This are very common problems in older houses, and I have had to dothat before. You can get an outlet tester fairly cheap to plug in andshow if everything is ok (or open ground, reverse wiring, etc).

We use PageNet; to send email to the pager we send something like:8055552416.51178@pagenet.net

where 8055552416 is the number that we call, 51178 is the PIN number forthe pager. Pagenet has the gateway email-->pager, we just send email.

Although this sometimes takes a while.

We use NTMail and the add on LG-Fax to forward a users email to their fax.You can also email to 6788898.fax@domain.com and have the server send afax to that fax machine. We haven't used it much, but it has workedwell.

I cannot recommend because I have not used the product but have viewed theirpage for several months and they are making improvements to the product, including a printer driver to allow subscribers to send faxes over the net.

300 MHz Pentium II with 64 MB SDRAM (expandable to 256) on an M715motherboard, 512k pipeline burst cache, PCI card, 4.3 GB HDD, 3.5" floppy,nnX CD ROM. It will host a SCSI controller.

Is this machine adequate to run NT server? Is 64MB enough memory? Is this agood price? Is the M715 a desirable motherboard?

Thanks.

64megs is "enough", but I would advise 128 megs...

However, and its just my opinon, but I would never run an NT server on a IDE hard drive.. spend a little more and go SCSI.
