Check the init string of the customer's modem. You may need to add
additional settings "limiting" his modem to a 33.6 connect speed in order
for you to negotiate correctly.

Check out www.56k.com for a bunch of good information on the 56k modems,
and also the v.90 stuff coming down the pipe.
