You will need to manually add each of those ports to the ServerPorts
table for that server.
how and where in emerald can I do that?

The local drive or the main server? I was wondering if it could be a
permissions issue on the web server where the user directories are. We have
a couple of machines doing this and it seemed to start acting up after we
tightened up our lan security.

I still need help on this. Any ideas?
A few of the reports I want to run are causing Emerald to crash. For
example, when I try to run the usercalls.rpt Dr. Watson reports an
access violation and the client crashes. A couple of other reports
cause a crash without activating Dr. Watson.
Also, when trying to access the "Billing Groups" tab in Config Database
in Emerald Administrator I get the error "Runtime error 424: Object
required." When I click OK, the program crashes.
When trying to access the "Billing Cycles" tab, I get the error message
"SQL Server Error: Invalid object name 'Billing Cycles'. State=1
Severity=16. Clicking OK does not cause a crash in this case. I get
the same error if I try to add a Billing Cycle type.
The only other problem I see right now is that the "Operators" tab is
blank. I can't Add or remove operators. The one that were created with
2.1.11 are still active and useable.

Its whatever the path is for the user. Your Home Dirs should be
a UNC, not a local path. If its the later, that could be what is
causing the problem.

Check the trigger on your calls table. The update for the ServerPortsshould be a ">=" rather than just a ">". If its just the later, you'll have the problem you describe.
DROP Trigger calls_insertGO
CREATE TRIGGER calls_insert ON dbo.Calls FOR INSERTAS UPDATE ServerPorts Set sp.UserName = i.UserName, sp.AcctStatusType = i.AcctStatusType, sp.CallDate = DateAdd(Second, 0-i.AcctDelayTime, i.CallDate), sp.FramedAddress = i.FramedAddress FROM Servers s, ServerPorts sp, inserted i WHERE s.IPAddress = i.NASIdentifier AND s.ServerID = sp.ServerID AND sp.Port = i.NASPort AND (DateAdd(Second, 0-i.AcctDelayTime, i.CallDate) >= sp.CallDate OR sp.CallDate IS NULL)
UPDATE SubAccounts Set sa.TimeLeft = sa.TimeLeft - (i.AcctSessionTime/60 +1) FROM SubAccounts sa, inserted i WHERE sa.login = i.UserName and sa.TimeLeft <> NULL and i.AcctStatusType = 2GO

Most likely there is a problem with the reports themselves. If you haveCrystal Reports you can load them into CR and check them out. I'll tryand take a look at them and see whats wrong with them. Can you give me a list of the ones that are causing the problems? > Also, when trying to access the "Billing Groups" tab in Config Database> in Emerald Administrator I get the error "Runtime error 424: Object> required." This is an issue with the Emerald 2.2 admin. You can use the 2.1 adminfor editing billing groups. > When trying to access the "Billing Cycles" tab, I get the error message> "SQL Server Error: Invalid object name 'Billing Cycles'. Billing cycles are not support and you can ignore that tab. > The only other problem I see right now is that the "Operators" tab is> blank. I can't Add or remove operators. The one that were created with> 2.1.11 are still active and useable.
Is it blank, or just doesn't contain any data in the list? Try switchto the Operator Access tab and then back.

You need to install the SQL Client utilities. This is outlines in thegetting started section of the Emerald documentation.

The EmerAuth.dll resolves this problem. It is available in the/RadiusNT/Enterprise directory on our FTP site. Please read thedocs, and then double-read them, since it is different than theEmer_ntm.dll.

You need to edit the registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IEA\Emrald\SQL\Integrated
to 0. You must have your SQL Server security mode set to mixed orintergrated for that to work, and you should be able to log intoEmerlad with no username/password if it is working. Don't set theintegrated option unless you can. :)

The defrev.rpt, bigaccts.rpt, and explytd.rpt generate the error mssg"SQL server error." On clicking "OK" the error mssg dialog box goesaway. No report is generated. Emerald doesn't crash.
ccbad.rpt and inv_cnd.rpt crash Emerald (Emerald shuts down) with noerror message.
The openinc.rpt generates an OBDC error "invalid object name:'Emerald2.dbo.incidents," then a "SQL server error". Emerald doesn'tcrash.
As mentioned above, usercalls.rpt is a problem.

The tab is completely blank. There is no Operator Access tab.

When they create the user and the homedir is NOT blank, Emeraldwill try to create the dir. So they need change on the directory.

Well, the problem is occuring no matter what they are doing, even when theyare just looking at records and then exiting the user info screens.

The really wierd thing is that if the same user logs into the same folder onthe same drive using network neighborhood, he can do whatever he wants.

Do they exit via save or cancel/close? I would expect it to happenif they do the former. I'm working on an option to allow Emeraldnot to verify the dirs.

On save. I checked all the user permissions, even tried creating global andlocal groups with the selected users in them to no avail.
