NT Mail doesn't authenticate if SQL server restarts

Here's a little problem we are having, if our SQL Server is restarted for
any reason, (i.e. the machine it is on was rebooted) NT Mail will not
authenticate through Emerald database until we either stop/start NT Mail.
Is this normal?

Not a big deal if I know the SQL is stopping, but....

Any Help?
