We are setting up a new SQL server and have a few questions.
New System:
PII 233 - 128MB - 9GB UW SCSI - 3C905B-TX & 10/100MB Hub, etc.
I notice that SQL on our current server only uses about 8 MB ram.
How do I tell SQL to use all the ram in the system - ie: 96 to 128 MB ram?
Will this make Emerald & SQL faster?
What is the optimal amount of ram for SQL, Emerald with 500MB database?
Would adding Seagate Backup Exec Enterprise to this server detract from
it's performance?
I really appreciate any help you all can give me on this topic.
Thanks
