RADIUS can only tell your NAS things like idle timeouts and session
timeouts. You should check your Account Type defaults in the Emerald
admin to see if either of these are included, and if so, are they
what you want? You can also check the Acct-Terminate-Cause (if your
NAS sends it) to see why the users is being disconnected. That would
be the easiest way to figure out what is going on.

I would check the expire date of the MBR. Most likely its past due andRadiusNT is rejecting the user for being expired. > Also, an entry appears in the Radius log file, which lists the username is> listed as authenticated..

This is a mis-print in RadiusNT 2.2. If you upgrade to RadiusNT 2.5,it will correctly tell you the problem. If I remember right, its missingthe word "not" in the sentence (like the user is not authenticated).

I would like to get my terminate cause field working in emerald.

I am getting accounting info into the DB "calls" but the AcctTerminateCause is still showing all null's.

What do i need to start getting that info? I have an ascend MAX 4002

Do i need to add that attribute to my accounts in radius?

I have tried to add AcctTerminateCause to a radius profile but nothing shows up in the calls table.

When i try to use AscendDisconnectCause in a user file Emerald client dies.

Am i missing a setting in the max ?

Thanks for any idea's.

First, send a nasty-gram to Ascend and tell them to use the RFC attributes, rather than pulling their own out of thier....

Ascend uses a non-RFC attribute called Ascend-Disconnect-Cause. Nowthe good news is thats its just an int like the RFCAcct-Terminate-Cause.You can trick RadiusNT into saving the Ascend one into the Calls Tableby renaming the Ascend-Disconnect-Cause to the RFC name. > I have tried to add AcctTerminateCause to a radius profile but nothing shows up in the calls table.

Thats not going to accomplish anything.

By "different server" are you referring to a different RadiusNT serverrunning against the same SQL Server or two different RadiusNT serversrunning against two different SQL Servers? The accounting data has togo into the same database as the authentication does for the on-linefeatures to work. RadiusNT does not require users to be in thedatabase jsut to store the accounting information, though.

Hello Dale.

Thanks to your help we were able to run our first credit card batch.

I'm using Emerald 2.2.38 and batching out our credit cards in an ICVerifyformat.

Currently Emerald places, what appears to be, the customer's ID in theICVerify COMMENT field.

We need to apply these payments, however customer searches by ID is notpossible from within Emerald.

1. How can we find out which customer belongs to which ID in order to beable to apply payment?

2. Is there a way (and if so, how) to change Emerald's batch output so thatit places the customer's last name or login name in the COMMENT field instead?

3. Failing number 2 above, can you incorporate a search by customer ID fromwithin Emerald?

Thank you.

Hi, I also run an ICVerify credit card processing system. What Emerald putsin the comment field (in version 2.1.8, anyways) is a TRANSACTION number forthat particular transaction.

To mark the correct invoices paid in version 2.1.8, one goes to the Invoicestab in Emerald and types in the TRANSACTION number of the transaction in the"Trans:" space. One then hits the SEARCH button and gets an error saying"Please fill in at least one search criteria." One then hits the OK button, and the appropriate invoice is displayed, and one pays it by pressing thePAY button (one ignores the error message).

That's how my version of Emerald works. I hope that helps.

Emerald 2.2 doesn't have the "please fill..." problem with it.

My guess would be either permisions or some problem with the Callstable. Who does RadiusNT connect as? Does it have problems ifyou login as sa? > That's as far as it goes, then when I open emerald and click on the On-line> tab all I get is "SQL failed".

Do you have a callsonline query or a possible permissions problem withit?

Actually it puts a TransActionID in the comments field. You can searchon the TransID via the Invoice tab (the Trans field). Then you can paythe invoice the transid is associatd to.
