We are running a secondary Radius server in text mode as a backup. We just
export a Radius users file every time a number of accounts have been added.
It seems to work very well and we have not had a problem with it(even as
far as not knowing when our primary was down!) This option however (as far
as I know) doesn't allow you to log the accounting info to your SQL
database. The other option would be to have a secondary Radius server
running with a backup SQL server handling the accounting info. This also
works well but requires to to setup replication between primary and backup
SQL servers.

Hope this helps.

Some other list members will probably be able to expand/add to this as
well.
