Your approach is correct, but out of our experience (and a long thread
on this list a long time ago) it depends also on the NIC driver. We've
found some that crash when you have more than 5 IPs, some go up to 16,
and so on.

We're running more than 64 IPs under WinNT4usSP3 with Intel EM100B,
driver EM100B v. 2.13, date may 1, 97

Maybe others can share their experiences, too?
