A difficult for SQL SERVER

I've setup two tables on the SQL server database , and created a
View on it. My client VB programm can run SELECT from the view
through ODBC, and write data on the two tables.
Now the Problem is that when two persons use my programm at the
same time, the SQL SERVER will sometimes delay the response for a long
time . I have tried to adjust the SQL SERVER configuration to improve the
performance but failed. I don't know what's wrong with my programme.
Please help me!
