invoiceitems entries not created

Today we went to create invoices just like every day. For some reason though
the invoices were created, and with the correct totals but the invoiceitems
table doesn't have any items for these invoices. When we went to print the
invoices it went thru the print process but came up with 0 invoices in the
print window. If I go and look up one of the invoices it shows in the
history tab but not in the open invoices tab and it can't be paid since it
doesn't show there.

Anyone seen this before? It was working fine yesterday and as far as I know
nothing has been changed.
