You have to have atleast the same version engine as the report was
written in. For example, if you have CR 5.0 and write/edit a report
for 5.0, the client needs to have 5.0 installed on it. Emerald 2.1
comes with the 4.5 Engine. I don't know if there is an option to
install just the engine on computer. Emerlad installs it during
the Emerlad installation because we are licensed to distribute the
runtime engine. You could install 5.0 or 6.0 on the machine with
the client complaining and that will correct the problem.
