I have no statistics, but one of my hosted websites got kicked off of
another provider due to the XXX section of his web.
I looked at the site and convinced him that he didn't need to adult section
due to the content of the rest of the site. He tried is and continues to
increase his viewership.

Moral:
XXX will instantly attract users, but solid content will keep them. (and
allow for mainstream advertising)

(On the other hand from corperate firewall logs it seems that the first
week someone has Internet access they spend about 20% of the time at adult
sites and then it rapidly decreases. It goes down faster if I mention that
that access is logged)
