Get yourself a TFTP server. I use http://www.walusoft.co.uk
When you do the Save Cfg from the Sys Diag no passwords are saved. This is
good only for a blank config IMHO. Instead, use a TFTP server goto
Diagnostics mode and enter:
>tsave (tftp-hostname or IP) (file-name) This will produce a 25K text file.
Protect it!!!
When you update the code in a MAX use the TFTP server again from
Diagnostics:
>tloadcode (tftp-hostname or IP) (file-name)
>nv
This process boots the MAX twice. Once with the new code, second with the
configuration.
******* CAUTION ******
If you use a FAT load (file greater than 1meg) you need to do a reset in
place of the nv. If you have never done a FAT load ask for HELP! Otherwise
run the risk of trashing your MAX!!!!!!!!!!!! There is a set procedure that
must be strictly adhered to especially when a FAT load needs to be updated.
