Thanks Peter! You are correct about the USR and PM3's and I apologize for
myself. It is still argued that a DSP chip must convert the signal
however, but with much less reduction in quality. Both of us are correct,
yet there are still details that cannot be removed. However, the caller's
modem is digitally muxed to a T1 if it is run to a com server like a 5200.
I think, however, this conversation will be taken to a newer list seeing
that it has to do with ISP Technology, and not RadiusNT. I'm more than
happy to be available for discussion and to work out the "myths" about this
stuff, but not on this list any longer. I believe even the Big Boys
(laugh) learned a couple things.
Telco's can tell you one thing, but this stuff is rarely noted for people
to learn :) Always remember that a telco is a telephone company.
