The Xeon has more and possibly faster cache - it's also SMP enabled for quad
and higher processor clusters.

As for it being enhanced for a network protocol - thats twaddle - each
TCP/IP stack is written with different code - it would be stupid for Intel
to try writing optimisation by hand for all the different TCP/IP stacks
available.

Subject: [NTISP] unrelated NT question-Xeon Processors

We are looking to get some new servers, and we have heard the Xeon
processors are "optimized" for TCP/IP-has anyone on the list used a server
with Xeon, and if so, have you been happy with the them? are they worth the
the difference between a PIII-500 and a PIII-500 Xeon? Thanks-Drew
