I didn't mean to imply that the limitation lies with Emerald. You explained
a while back that IMail itself wasn't written to pull those values from an
external database.

If Emerald could even watch for dupes, it would be extremely helpful. We
could enter the alias in Emerald to have a record of it, which would also
ensure that the alias is not dished out to someone else as a login. At the
same time, we could create the working alias in IMail and let IMail prevent
us from creating the duplicate alias. This would then be the only data
entry we have to do in IMail.

Pipedream? :D
